Having worked and travelled, and travelled and worked for a number of years, we decided it was time to simply stop doing the work bit and just travel.
Along the way we've picked up a couple of companions, Sonny and Purdie, two lovely Border Collies who are rarely, if ever, left our side. It's mainly down to them that we stopped travelling further afield, (non-drivable destinations).
We ended up in Southern Spain for some time, which was great, however each time we travelled back to the UK, we passed through many places we would like to see more of and see signs to many others that we simply passed by.
So... we decided to up sticks and buy a Motorhome. 2018 saw us, Dogs 'n' all on our first 'Van Life' adventures.
After some UK testing trips and acclimatisation to living full time in an RV ( Admittedly ours was more Glamping than Camping), we were ready to head south for the big one. Through France and Portugal and around Spain.
In between times, we were devastated by the sudden illness and loss of our beautiful soul 'Purdie'. It took us a while to work through that and even now she remains strong in our hearts and thoughts.
The following pages show our travels around the UK, testing the kit and and learning about life on the road and leading to our big trip back down to Southern Spain. We had planned to go further but then the world went mad...
We've recently changed our wheels for something a little smaller, which we hope will enable us to do some different adventuring, more of that to come.
Just as we were enjoying the van, we once again had our world turned upside down. 'Sonny' who was by now 15 years of age, got poorly on a trip around Wales. A few days after we got home we once again had to make that awful decision to say goodbye.
